PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. -- Carson Perreaux scored his first-career hat trick and added an assist as the Prince Albert Raiders downed the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 8-6 on Friday in Western Hockey League play. Prior to his offensive outburst, 18-year-old Perreaux had never scored more than once in a contest. He also set a new career-high for points, succeeding a three-point performance from last season against the Regina Pats. Josh Morrissey had two goals and an assist for the Raiders (3-0-0) while Leon Draisaitl scored once and set up two more. Craig Leverton and Matteo Gennaro each scored for Prince Albert and Shane Danyluk chipped in with three assists. Eric Roy led the Wheat Kings (2-1-0) with a goal and two assists while Rihards Bukarts, Jack Palmer, John Quenneville, Richard Nejezchleb and Tim McGauley each scored once. Cole Cheveldave made 29 saves for the win as Curtis Honey stopped 37-of-44 shots in defeat. Gennaro opened the scoring just over three minutes into the first period and the Raiders went into the first intermission up 4-0. The Wheat Kings came alive in the second period, scoring three times, however they still trailed 6-3 after 40 minutes. Bukarts brought Brandon within a goal of tying the game at 14:40, but Perreaux scored into an empty net to seal the victory for the Raiders.
